March 11 2013

Dear all!
So its reallly different here in mexicali then it was in tijuana. Its all flat, not one hill, i kind of like that!
Also its pretty hot out right now, feels like 80s out, every one tells me that this is the cool time of the year. In about a few monthes it will be up there in the 120s. And yes we are still expected to work those days. I cant even imagine how it will feel.
My direction is:
[redacted]
Mexicali
(we live behind that house)
My ward is called Chapultepec, i still dont know that its like becasue we just had stake conference so i still donthave a clue what the ward is like. Though the members that i have visited and taught are all really nice. My companion says the ward is made up of a lot of older people, haha.
Also from what i have seen is that mexicali is a lot better off that tijuana. Its a lot more tranquilo and a lot of the people are really well off. Its actually really a culture shook from tijuana. going from hills, garbage everywhere, lots of people on the streets, and lots of color (grass, trees, people trying to sell colorfull things) TO more or less clean, everything is brown like a desert, no hills, not a lot of people on the streets, and supprisingly there are a lot of nice cars here (i see bmw, audi, mercedes cars every day)
So i really like it here, but the worst part is that im basically starting from scratch. When i got here there was no investagaters and they wernt reallyteaching anyone. No we are doing a little better. We are teaching ever day and working to find people. Another difference frm tijuana is that apperently its a lot easier to find peeople and baptize in tj then mexicali and even hard in ensanada.
Well i will write you all later with more fotos de mexicali
Love elder evans
ps in the photos there is a folder that says Rumoroso, that is a place thatwe had to drive through to get to mxicali. I was a bunch of hills made from what look like just rocks. The misioneros joke around about how Jesus, after creating the earth, had a bunch of extra rocks and just dumpt them all there.
On the bus to Mexicali

Rumoroso

I can see where the "bunch of extra rocks" idea came from

The kitchen/garage. I guess they are on bikes? Although Jim pointed out that one is a girls' bike.
