May 29 2013

Hey mom, so i wont be able to write much right now but what i can say is that yes i have been transfered and am now serving in Lomitas ward in ensenada. its a lot different. here it is always cool out with a breeze from the ocean. the ocean is pretty cool, i havent gotten too close to it but i can see it from my sector. So as mexicali was super flat and hot here is super hilly and breezy. to be honest i miss mexicali and would love to have stayed there a little bit more time. There is a family there that i started visiting with elder neeser and continued visiting with rendon (fam Ramirez), the family that helped me out when i got sick, that i will miss a lot.
Right now my companion is  elder Ramirez from Chiapas MX. He has 5 months in the mision.
Well i will write a lot more when i can but as for now.
Love you bye

May 21 2013

Hey y'all (im teaching my companion southern state english)

Hey hows it going? Sorry i didnt write that much yesterday but we didnt really have much time and i forgot my memory and so me and my companion decided to just write today. So these past two weeks have gone by pretty fast! It was really great hearing from you guys.
So this week is that last week of transfers so there is a chance that i am going. I have more time here then my companion but then again you never know. I still dont know if i want to go or not. It would be really cool getting to know a new area and work with different people but then again at the same time i really like all the people in this ward. There are some families that i am really going to miss if i leave here. Then again if i stay i will have to suffer more heat and im really liking the idea of going somewhere nice and cool, like Ensanada :)
This week our president finally brought us a new air conditioner. Me and my companion were really excided to recieve a new one. We brought it up to the room and fit it into the window and then when we wanted to plug it in...what do ya know! It doest fit in the outlit bucause it need 220 volts and has a different plug. Oh well we will be working with someone in our ward to get the thing working.
We have also continued working with the members in the ward. We have a few people that we have just started working with. One is the step brother of the bishop. He has come to church for the past 2 weeks but it has been difficult finding a time to teach him. He apperently works a lot. I think my companion and i are just going to go and surprise visit him without an appointment. A sister in the ward also brought her friend to church. We have to visit her too. She seems pretty shy and i dont think she can read, but the sister who invited her to church is super cool and actually had a son out on the mision before so she really likes helping out the misionaries.
So this week we did 2 family home evenings and they were both really great. The first one, my companion and i taught about the Holy Ghost and what are its functions and what can we do to have the Holy Ghost with us. My favorite part about that lesson was when we talked about how the Holy Ghost can guide us with a still small voice that tells us what we should do. I have learn recognize the Holy Ghost as that voice in my head that reminds me to do my daily prayers and scripture reading even when i feel too tired :) jaja
In the second family home evening i taught about the story of Nefi and the Liahona. And how his family used it to guide them through the wilderness to where they need to go. We comparied the liahona to other things that we have in our lives that guide us like Prophets and the scriptures and so on.
Also, other highlight of the week is that ======== (joven that we baptised) passed that sacrament this week!

Well g2g
Love you all

Special midweek photos!

From the mom:
Our bishop and his wife traveled to southern California this past week and got permission to see EJ this past week! I haven't spoken with Bishop and Sister J yet (since they are getting back this evening), but they sent us these three pictures:

Thank you, Bishop and Sister J, for taking time out of your trip to drive the 2-hour-one-way trip to Mexico to say hello to Jimmy! And thank you for sending pictures to us to prove that he is doing ok!

May 6 2013

Hey Mom
so i just left from the clinic and well i feel good. basically just told them all of my symptoms (stomach problems) and like 30 mins before going to the clinic i had a allergic reaction to something and was covered in rashes (nothing too bad). So they wrote me up some perscription and pumped some fluids in my hand/vain para the allergic reaction, stomach pain, and infection that i have in my intestines or someone in that digestive tracked. Alls well, they say that i will slowly be getting better throughout the week with these medicamentos. Wow im having trouble writing in english.
Well i feel like that was my whole day. I was going to take the rest of the day to relax and buy food and meds because we didnt do that earlier.... but our leaders are sending us to some weird area that i dont know in the other stake to find someones house because our leaders set up an appointment for us and are making us go. It will be good because it means work but.....today of all days :( oh well esta bien.
Well the past week was kind of a lazy week, not because i wanted to be lazy but because i wasnt feeling that great and everytime i ate my stomach acted up and we returned home until things settled down. We meet and taught a guy who was deported from MN. His name is ====, he and his wife lived in shakopee but now its just his wife that is there and he is waiting, i think, to be able to go back. He is a neighbor to one of the members in the ward. He didnt go to church yesterday (dont know why) but it seems like he has a great desire to change his life around.
So the plans are that i will call you guys from skype at like 1:30pm my time on sunday.
Welll....if you have any questions ask. Otherwise i got to go.
Love you all! Bye

April 29 2013

With the renewing my visa last week i really didnt have to do anymore then go to tijuana and sign a few forms and fingerprints so it wasnt much. Some day soon i will probably have to return to tijuana just to pick up the card, but i dont know when.
haha that lizard that we found last week, we found crawing around the entrence of the house. After having it in the little container for a few hours i decided its best if i let if go becasue i had no idea how to feed it or keep it alive. Otherwise it would have been cool to keep.
Wow thats some crazy minnesota weather. But i gotta admite, i wouldnt mind a bit of it over here. Were as you guys say you cant imagine 100 every day... I can! haha its pretty hot. Everyone keeps telling me that its just beginning and that its still not that bad out. Its wierd being here and thinking that is still just spring weather. In my house we have one air conditioning machine. One of those ones you stick in the window. Its located in the bedroom and it does an alright job of keeping it cool in the bedroom, we basically have to keep it on all day. With out it there would be no way i could sleep in the heat. The most interesting part though of having the machine in the bedroom is that when you walk out of the bedroom its like being hit by a little wave of heat. The bedroom can get to a nice 60 degrees and the whole rest of the house in the 80s o 90s. Also a few days ago we started to feel a breeze outside and it literally felt like i was infront of an opened oven. Horrible icky hot breeze. I can only imagine when summer comes.
So this last week i had my first baptism here in mexicali. The work is a lot harder here then in tijuana because all the people who live here are people that have lived here for a ton of time  or were born here and dont like change where as in tijuana its completely different. People from all over the place who are constantely making changes. But alas! A baptism! We baptised a kid named ======== (12 anos). his grandparents are less active member and his parents and everyone else he lives with are really that great of examples. And so me and my companion have been working with the grandma and all of here grandchildren that live there. The kids are gradually getting involved with church activities and getting to know people. I really hope that they can stay involved in the church because its probably the one thing that could help them most in their young lives. While working with them i often think of all the blessing i have been given for having grown up in the church.

April 16 2013

Muy rapido.
Hello everybody,
So yesterday was pretty busy because we had transfers. Elder Neeser was sent to Ensenada and i still hear in Chapultepec Mexicali. My New companion is Elder Rendon and he is from Hidalgo Mexico. The fotos is sent were of my zone here in mexicali before the changes.
The other is of me getting attacked by a pitbull. the pitbulls name is hercules and he like to play around and sort of attack us, hes actually really friendly and rarely ever bites, and when he does it doesnt hurt. hes the dog of our wards 1st Counsalor whom also happens to be our ward mission leader. Elder Neeser and i wanted to get pictures of use being attacked by a a pitbull, so we did.
And the other ones are of use shotting at a archery range here in my sector. There is a family in my ward that likes going to what is called Ciudad Deportiva or Sport City, where there is a ton of things to do like go swimming, play tennis, soccer, football, baseball and other sports. The hermana in the family invited us to shoot arrows because she is taking classes and has the equipment to do it. So the day of the transfers we went at like 6 in the morning to shoot. It was really fun, only the hermana shoots left handed so she only had a left hand bow. But it was fun all the less.
Sorry its such a short email but i got to go, bye
